These terms describe grocery shopping, delivery, and stocking orders placed through arvl.shop and related ARVL ordering services. ARVL means ARVL, LLC. The business identified on your storefront, checkout, or confirmation is the selling business for your order; a participating local business or shopper may fulfill it. Applicable checkout disclosures and specific accepted order terms govern that order. Businesses using ARVL’s technology are also subject to the separate Platform and Business Terms on getarvl.com.
Optional ARVL text messages
ARVL’s optional SMS program sends automated transactional and operational messages about grocery orders, shopping and delivery updates, delivery coordination, account alerts, assignments, and business order activity. The messages you receive depend on the separate opt-in you select and your role. This program does not send promotional or marketing messages. Message frequency varies with order and account activity. Message and data rates may apply.
You opt in through a separate, unchecked SMS consent control at an eligible ARVL checkout or in your own account’s SMS settings. Providing a phone number, accepting these terms, being invited to an account, or having a business administrator turn on an SMS notification rule does not give SMS consent. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase, account access, or work assignments. A guest checkout opt-in applies to that order, not to future marketing.
Reply STOP to opt out of ARVL text messages or HELP for help. You can also turn off account SMS in your personal notification settings. After an opt-out, restoring messages may require renewed consent and review of carrier restrictions. Contact hello@getarvl.com for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Email, telephone, and other available channels can still be used to administer your order or account.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we protect mobile information and consent records. We retain the opted-in phone number, date, consent source, disclosure version, and consent and opt-out history to administer the program.
1. Eligibility, acceptance, and order information
You must be at least 18, have legal capacity to place the order, and be authorized to use the payment method and provide access to the delivery property. Higher age requirements and additional conditions apply to regulated products. By affirmatively accepting the terms during checkout, you agree to these terms and the applicable pricing and cancellation disclosures. A shopping list, saved list, estimate, or inquiry is not itself a completed order. Order acceptance and availability are subject to confirmation, service area, fulfillment capacity, and payment requirements.
Provide the full name on the reservation, accurate contact information, the correct property and unit address, destination, estimated arrival, management company or hotel where relevant, and usable delivery and access instructions. You must have permission to provide information about other persons and to authorize access to the property. Tell us promptly about changes. We may contact you, the authorized property contact, or the selling business to clarify details. We may decline or cancel an order that cannot lawfully or safely be fulfilled, with charges and refunds handled according to the work actually authorized and applicable law.
2. Shopping and fulfillment
The service involves purchasing available groceries locally and coordinating delivery or stocking for a vacation residence or other eligible property. Local stores and manufacturers supply the products. A local shopper or participating fulfillment business may perform the shopping and delivery. Product availability, store hours, weather, access restrictions, holiday demand, and destination conditions can affect fulfillment.
If an independent business is identified as the seller, its disclosed order terms and responsibilities may also apply. ARVL’s provision of technology or payment processing does not alone make it the seller of that business’s products. If ARVL sells your order and uses another fulfiller, that routing does not remove ARVL’s obligations as the selling business. Contact the business shown on your confirmation or hello@getarvl.com if you need help identifying the responsible contact.
3. Product availability, quantities, and substitutions
Catalog descriptions, images, package contents, brands, sizes, and availability are illustrative and may differ from what a local store has when shopping occurs. Produce, meat, and other variable-weight items are purchased in practical available quantities; actual weights and grocery costs can differ from estimates. A package is a convenient grocery list unless the checkout expressly identifies a fixed-price offer. A description mentioning an example price is not a binding total unless expressly presented as the accepted price.
Substitutions follow the preferences and disclosures associated with your order. When substitutions are permitted, the shopper may select a reasonably comparable available product, which may differ in price, size, brand, ingredients, or dietary suitability. When substitutions are not permitted, unavailable items may be omitted. Provide clear item-specific restrictions, and remain reachable during shopping if contact is needed. If you do not respond, the business will follow the applicable substitution policy rather than promise an unavailable item.
Catalog information and shopper judgment are not medical advice or a guarantee of allergen avoidance. Read the manufacturer’s current packaging and assess suitability before consuming a product. A shopper cannot inspect every manufacturing process or guarantee absence of cross-contact. Tell us about a material restriction, but do not rely solely on a grocery note for a severe allergy. These statements do not waive duties of reasonable care or product rights that cannot legally be excluded.
4. Grocery costs, service fees, and the final total
Unless checkout expressly states otherwise, grocery costs are determined by the actual shopping trip rather than a fixed advance catalog total. Your final invoice includes the applicable grocery amount, disclosed delivery and service fees, any disclosed order-processing or other approved fees, your selected gratuity, and any taxes legally required. Pricing can vary by selling business and destination. Review the pricing page and checkout for the rates applicable to your order; these terms do not establish a new fee or override a specific accepted offer.
A percentage service charge may change with the final grocery amount under the disclosed calculation. Retail prices, variable weights, substitutions, package sizes, promotions, and unavailable items can change the final total. The service fee compensates the business for its service and is distinct from an optional gratuity unless expressly disclosed otherwise. A card statement may show the selling business or its approved payment descriptor. Contact us about an unfamiliar descriptor or an invoice discrepancy.
5. Payment authorization and collection
By submitting an order and completing payment-method setup, you authorize the selling business and its payment processor to verify or authorize your payment method and collect the final amount for the groceries, disclosed fees, selected gratuity, and other charges you expressly approve under the order terms. A temporary authorization or validation may appear before the final charge; it is not a separate fee. Hold-release timing depends on your bank. Charges are administered through the order workflow after shopping or at another time clearly disclosed for the applicable service.
You must provide a valid authorized payment method and resolve a failed payment for amounts properly owed. A cancelled authorization does not itself cancel the order or remove a payment method available for authorized collection. We do not have permission to charge unrelated purchases or undisclosed additions. Refunds ordinarily return through the original payment method where supported and may take additional time to appear because of processor and bank timing. Contact the selling business promptly about a suspected mistake; nothing requires you to waive lawful payment-dispute or cardholder rights.
6. Changes, cancellations, and purchased groceries
For ARVL orders, grocery-list editing closes 24 hours before the scheduled delivery under the published policy. Changes submitted earlier remain subject to availability and confirmation. Contact the selling business for a late change, arrival change, or cancellation; sending a request does not guarantee that a shopper has seen it or that purchased items can be returned. Confirm that a cancellation has been processed. A travel cancellation or property-booking change does not automatically cancel the grocery order.
Under ARVL’s published cancellation policy, orders cancelled within 48 hours of scheduled delivery incur a $79 cancellation fee. Within 24 hours, that $79 fee applies and, if groceries have already been purchased, the grocery total and applicable service fee may also be charged. Timing is measured from the order’s scheduled delivery date and time. An independent seller’s disclosed cancellation terms may differ. The terms accepted for your order and applicable law control; no unannounced charge is created by this page.
We may be unable to return perishable, prepared, custom, opened, or otherwise non-returnable products to the store. If a service is cancelled because of our inability to fulfill it, rather than your request or a problem you caused, we will address any refund or charges based on what was supplied, what you authorized, and applicable law. A cancellation policy does not waive remedies for our breach or permit collection for work not performed or costs not properly owed.
7. Property access and permission to stock
You authorize the assigned shopper or fulfillment business to enter and stock the identified property using the access you lawfully provide and according to the order instructions. Obtain permission from the owner, hotel, or property manager when necessary. Give correct gate and door codes, parking information, check-in restrictions, unit details, and the contact who can resolve access problems. Alert us to pets, hazards, locked facilities, surveillance requirements, or restrictions that affect safe and lawful entry.
A shopper may refuse unsafe or unauthorized entry and is not required to bypass a lock, trespass, move hazardous items, restrain an animal, or violate property rules. If access is unavailable, we may contact you or your property representative and discuss an alternate handoff, rescheduling, or cancellation. Additional delivery or storage charges require the applicable prior disclosure or your approval. Responsibility for resulting purchased groceries and fees follows the accepted terms, reasonable mitigation, and applicable law.
Stocking includes reasonable placement of groceries in available kitchen storage where the service permits. It does not include inspecting or repairing the property, certifying refrigerator temperatures, cleaning unsafe storage, or guaranteeing the operation of an appliance. Please provide a functioning refrigerator and freezer with sufficient space. Tell us if the property will be inaccessible or its appliances unavailable. Report a suspected property incident promptly with available details.
8. Delivery timing, handoff, and unattended delivery
Estimated arrival time helps coordinate pre-arrival service; it is not a guaranteed delivery appointment unless an appointment is expressly accepted. We aim to deliver within the agreed service arrangements, but local conditions, shopping availability, property access, and unexpected events can affect timing. We will seek to communicate material issues using the contact information provided. Do not plan essential medical, emergency, or time-critical needs around an unconfirmed delivery estimate.
You may authorize unattended delivery or in-property stocking where available. Once groceries are placed in the agreed accessible storage or handed to an authorized recipient, you or that recipient should protect and inspect them promptly. For an authorized drop-off outside refrigeration, arrange prompt retrieval; weather, heat, animals, theft, and delay can affect food. We are not responsible for losses caused solely by conditions arising after proper delivery outside our control, but remain responsible for our own failures and any duty that cannot be excluded.
We may decline an unattended handoff that appears unsafe for food or incompatible with the accepted instructions and contact you for an alternative. Delivery photographs, timestamps, or property-contact confirmation may be used to document fulfillment. A delivery record is evidence of the process and does not automatically defeat a legitimate complaint.
9. Food handling, storage, and product concerns
Inspect groceries as soon as practical after arrival, refrigerate or freeze items appropriately, follow manufacturer storage and preparation instructions, and check ingredients, dates, packaging, and suitability. Do not consume a product that appears spoiled, damaged, recalled, or unsuitable for your dietary needs. Retain relevant packaging and photos when reporting a problem, and follow an official recall notice.
Products are supplied by retailers and manufacturers, and their warranties or recall processes may apply. We do not manufacture the groceries or guarantee every label or store product. This does not excuse unreasonable shopping or handling practices or remove statutory remedies. Contact the selling business promptly if an item is missing, incorrect, damaged, or affected by delivery handling so it can investigate and arrange an appropriate correction.
10. Alcohol and other regulated products
Alcohol or other regulated products are available only where the selling business expressly offers a lawful service and all applicable requirements are met. An external alcohol link, pickup arrangement, or follow-up request does not mean ARVL sells alcohol, holds a liquor license, or guarantees fulfillment. A licensed retailer’s separate rules and charges may apply.
For alcohol, the purchaser and recipient must meet the legal drinking-age requirement, provide required valid identification, and be available for any legally required handoff. Alcohol cannot be left unattended when prohibited. A retailer or fulfiller may refuse a prohibited or unsafe delivery. Any refusal-related charge or refund is governed by the disclosed terms and law. Do not use an ordinary grocery custom-item field to bypass a restriction or request illegal goods.
11. Corrections, refunds, and support
For an order issue, contact the selling business using your confirmation or email hello@getarvl.com with the reservation name, delivery date, and the issue. Report perishable or delivery concerns as soon as practical so relevant facts can be checked; prompt reporting assists resolution but does not shorten a statutory claim period. Keep relevant photos, packaging, and communications. Do not send full card details in email.
A correction may involve replacement, a partial refund, another agreed resolution, or a full refund where justified by the facts and law. We cannot promise that a retailer will accept every return or that a bank will display a refund immediately. We do not require you to give up mandatory consumer protections to receive a refund properly due. An original invoice and a refund may be recorded separately so the transaction history remains accurate.
12. Communications, privacy, and connected calendars
We and the selling or fulfilling business may contact you about your order by email, phone, or other available channels. ARVL SMS requires your separate, optional consent as described in the text messaging section; accepting these terms does not opt you in. Provide reliable contact information and check transactional messages. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, including sharing with authorized shoppers and property contacts, payments, website analytics, and optional business integrations.
A participating business that enables Google Calendar may send order information such as reservation name, property address, delivery instructions, timing, shopper name, and status to its selected Google calendar. The Privacy Policy describes these fields and the integration’s controls. Avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in free-text delivery notes. Keep confirmation, saved-list, and guest-edit links private; people with a valid link may be able to view or modify the information it authorizes.
13. Website use and intellectual property
Use the website and order links only for lawful, authorized purposes. Do not create fraudulent orders, misuse another person’s payment method or property access, disrupt the platform, harvest non-public information, distribute malware, or impersonate another guest or business. Catalog access does not grant permission to copy and republish ARVL’s branding, software, design, or copyrighted content, except as applicable law permits.
The site and third-party services can experience interruptions or errors. A saved list may require a valid link, supported browser, or other access conditions. We may correct catalog or technical mistakes, but a correction does not authorize a materially different charge without the notice or agreement required by law. If a material error affects an accepted order, we will contact you about the appropriate correction or cancellation.
14. Disclaimers and limits of liability
Except for express service commitments and rights that cannot be excluded, website tools are provided as available, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, every product’s availability, a particular store, or arrival at an unconfirmed exact time. To the extent permitted by law, implied website-service warranties may be disclaimed. These terms do not eliminate a seller’s obligations concerning goods, reasonable care, accepted services, or mandatory consumer guarantees.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ARVL is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including losses attributable to a disrupted vacation or lost opportunity. For ordinary contractual claims arising from an affected order, ARVL’s aggregate liability is limited to the total amount paid or payable for that order, or $100 if greater. This limit does not reduce a refund otherwise due.
No exclusion or limit applies to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence where exclusion is prohibited, personal injury or property damage to the extent liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any right or remedy that applicable law makes non-waivable. We remain responsible to the extent required by law for our own acts and those for whom we are legally responsible. Limitations apply only where valid for the jurisdiction and claim.
15. Unexpected events, disputes, and updates
Weather, natural disasters, road closures, emergencies, retailer shutdowns, utility failures, and provider outages may prevent or delay service despite reasonable efforts. We will seek a practical solution and handle charges or refunds according to the services provided, the agreed terms, and applicable law. An event outside reasonable control does not automatically justify keeping payment for an unprovided service or eliminate mandatory remedies.
Contact us first if you wish to seek an informal resolution. You may still use a competent court, a regulator, a lawful payment dispute, or another remedy available under applicable law. These terms do not require arbitration, waive a class-action right, or deprive you of mandatory protections in your home jurisdiction. Applicable law and ordinary court-jurisdiction rules determine disputes unless a valid separate agreement controls.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent lawful. A failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. The accepted checkout disclosures, applicable order policies, and these terms govern their respective subjects. An independent seller’s accepted specific terms control its service where applicable, without removing ARVL’s own non-waivable obligations. Updates apply to future orders with the notice and acceptance required by law; material changes do not retroactively change an accepted order without a valid agreement.
For questions about these terms or an order, contact ARVL, LLC at hello@getarvl.com. If your confirmation identifies an independent seller, you may contact that seller directly as well.
